Welcome to the 2012 United Way Campaign
LIVE UNITED

Susan Vanisacker, Director of Organizational Effectiveness and Community Relations for La-Z-Boy Incorporated has been selected to serve as the chair for the 2012 United Way of Monroe County fund raising campaign.

“I am proud to continue the long relationship and support La-Z-Boy has for the United Way of Monroe County. This is a wonderful opportunity to show that although La-Z-Boy has become a worldwide corporation, we are still a friend and neighbor to our roots in Monroe County,” said Mrs. Vanisacker.

A graduate of The University of Toledo, she is very active in the community serving on various Boards including The Monroe Family YMCA, Gabby’s Ladder, River Raisin Centre for the Arts, St. Mary Catholic Central, Miss Monroe County Scholarship, and was a past Chairperson for the Monroe County Chamber of Commerce. Mrs. Vanisacker is also involved in the War of 1812 Bicentennial Committee, G.R.O.W. Monroe and served on the Pure Monroe Campaign Team. She is also a graduate of Leadership Monroe through the Monroe County Chamber of Commerce.

Mrs. Vanisacker has chaired the local La-Z-Boy employee campaign for the United Way for the past several years. Each year has shown an increase in employee participation and contributions, with the largest increase coming in the 2011 campaign. She achieved this by organizing a United Way presentation during companywide staff meetings garnering the support of the corporation Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and President.

"Sue has been a leader in our community for many years, and for her to make the United Way campaign a priority for 2012/13 is an honor. There are hundreds of organizations that Sue can put her talents toward, so we at the United Way know we are very lucky to have her," said Linda J. McCormick, President of the United Way Board of Directors.

A lifelong resident of Monroe, Mrs. Vanisacker currently resides in Monroe Township with her husband, Rick, and two children Matthew, (16) and Lauren, (13).
