A Message From The United Way

The first question I was asked when I was appointed Campaign Chair was "Where does the money go when I donate to United Way?" I thought to myself, if one person has asked there are probably several other individuals with the same question. Perhaps individuals do not give to United Way, because they are not aware of how the money is utilized.
There are several health and human service agencies in our community that rely on United Way dollars to assist in the funding of their programs. Each dollar you donate impacts our community in several ways. From helping with child care so that mothers can maintain employment to assisting with food and water for the recent Dundee tornado victims. The value of your dollar is endless.
The second question I was asked was "How do I make a donation to United Way?" There are several ways in which to give: you can donate online, send you donation to the United Way of Monroe County at 216 N. Monroe St., Monroe MI 48162, or simply call (734) 242-1331. You can also designate your donation to one of the member agencies.
This year, more than ever, we need your help!!! The economic condition in our community is distressed, and there are more and more programs that count on United Way for assistance. So, please GIVE UNITED so that we can LIVE UNITED in Monroe County.
